Travellers always slated economy. Especially the ones who liked to go first class-
''Oh no, we're in the cattle truck.''
''Looks like we're slumming it for this journey.''
''We'll be packed in like bloody sardines.''
They always assumed it was going to be terrible before they even took their seats.
Jack never understood it. He liked economy.
It had an atmosphere, and that was something you never got in first class.
The rich people may always go in first class, but the people with character, well, they're in economy.
So there might be a few screaming brats, so what? Every plane has it's unruly children.
In Jack's opinion, the banter was better, and there was always a flirt with a hostess to be had in 'the cattle truck.'
He'd turned down numerous offers of upgrades to slum it in economy with the everyday tourists. It was an enriching experience.
Which was more than could be said for his drink.
